Larry Morace

To me drawing offers a window into the mind as it organizes what is seen, as it struggles to notate using techniques from an artistic tradition. Part of this struggle and excitement comes from using the artistic tradition not as a crutch falling into a formulaic response but moving beyond the techniques and pushing the drawing experience into new unexpected space. The drawing brings a happy surprise, an order that can be inexplicably pleasing.
